A few years after the events of Pandemic Legacy Season 1, you and your team will be once again protecting the world from extinction. Season1 provided some excellent memories and was a huge hit for a lot of people. Season 2 should provide even more fun and is the perfect gift for that group that just finished season 1. You can start season 2 without playing season 1, but I recommend playing through season 1 as it was very very good.

Charterstone is a legacy game about building a village and the changes that will happen from game to game. Everyone is working in the same village, so what they build may affect your part of the village and more. Stonemaier has created huge hits in Scythe and Viticulture (both I highly recommend), I have no reason to not believe that we will all enjoy Charterstone. This is a day one buy for me on Dec. 12th.

Anachrony is an epic worker placement game about the end of the world. Each nation is trying to use up resources and prepare to leave Earth after a great impact happens. You will be using time travel to get resources from the future to help you now, but you have to be careful to repay them back or face causing anachronisms. Your workers will visit the surface of Earth with Exo-Suits and train new workers. There is so much to do and Anachrony has been one of my favorite games of the year. Highly recommend to worker placement fans.

Dinosaur Island is the euro game version of Jurassic Park. That alone should probably sell you on the game. While I may not be a fan of the 80s neon coloring, there is lots of fun dinosaur action to be had. This is currently one of my most wanted games. Just in case you wanted to give your favorite reviewer something :)
Anyways, Dinosaur Island has been a huge hit for those who own the game and the theme will entertain many. I believe this is a smart purchase for your game group.

While Dojo Kun is only half euro style game. (The other half is a fighting tournament). Dojo Kun is 100% fun. You will be upgrading your dojo and training your fighters to fight in 2 tournaments. Everyone feels involved during the whole game and everyone has a shot at winning those tournaments. Even if you don't win the tournaments, you still have a shot at winning the game based on your dojo and the adventures your fighters went on. This has become an instant hit for me when I first played it and I recently obtained a copy that is staying in my collection. One member in my game group tried to keep my copy. He ended up getting his own copy. Highly recommend.

The fourth edition of the epic space game Twilight Imperium was released at GenCon this year. Twilight Imperium for years has been known as the longest, epic space game. For years there has been debate if a fourth edition would ever be released. We now have our answer. Twilight Imperium fourth edition keeps the epic fun, but also streamlines some aspects of the game. From what I have heard, most have enjoyed the new edition and have had no problem switching from their beloved third edition. If you are looking for a gift for a sci fi gamer, Twilight Imperium fourth edition is the way to go.

Terraforming Mars has players competing to make Mars inhabitable to mankind. Since coming on the market last year, Terraforming Mars has been one of the most played and purchased games. Terraforming Mars contains elements of engine building, tile laying and resource management that have players coming back to play more and more. In 2017, two expansions have been released to expand the fun. Stronghold Games did their best to make Terraforming Mars as scientifically accurate as possible, which in my mind adds to the theme and fun. I highly enjoy playing Terraforming Mars, and would recommend getting the Broken Token insert as it provides a lot of help with storing and for playing.

Element is an abstract strategy game that has players using the 4 elements to try and defeat their opponent. Each element acts differently and the game flows beautifully for an abstract strategy game. Element was a surprise hit for me this year and has become one of my favorite abstract strategy games to date. If you are fan of chess or checkers, Element will take you to a whole new level and you will never want to go back. Highly recommend.

Sagrada turns a boring topic like stain glass windows and turns it into one of the best games of 2017. Players are competing to build the best stained glass window using colored dice. You will have to balance color and the number on the dice to make the best stained glass window. One of the prettiest games I played this year and I had a blast playing it. Sagrada's gameplay was flawless and fun for all ages. Buy it if you can.

Paramedics Clear! is a competitive time based game that has players trying to get as many victims to the hospital as fast as possible while providing basic first aid. Paramedics Clear is fast paced fun and provides some hilarious injury cards that made each of my groups laugh. If you are a fan of games like Fuse that make you hurry with split second decisions, Paramedics Clear will provide similar fun. My review will be out very soon for a more detailed look at Paramedics Clear!. The fact the game is on the list should tell you that I probably thought highly of it.

Seikatsu is a beautiful abstract strategy game that has players scoring from different points of view from the board. Due to each player having a unique point of view, strategies take on a multi-point thought process for each tile that you are laying. The components for Seikatsu are amazing and high quality. This is a game that you can play with anyone and they will enjoy it.
