Legendary: Marvel Deck-Building Game required to play this expansion

The Captain America expansion brings a lot of additions in a small box expansion. In addition to the 5 hero decks, this expansion adds 2 new masterminds, 2 new villain groups, and 4 very different schemes. There are 3 new keywords that are added with this set. The Savior keyword allows the listed action to be performed if you have 3 or more bystanders in your victory pile. The Woman/Man Out of Time keyword phrase allows that card to be used that turn and then put to the side to be used immediately on your next turn once evil has progressed. This allows you to benefit from the icons and number values for 2 turns. The last keyword is for the mastermind and villain groups. Some villains will have the Abomination keyword meaning that they add the attack value of the card below them to their attack value. The mastermind Armin Zola has the keyword Ultimate Abomination. Zola adds the attack value of all cards in the HQ to his own attack value.

I have grown to enjoy Marvel Legendary the more I play it. The variety of villains and heroes provides so much variety and fun. I enjoyed the addition of Winter Solider and Falcon (Captain America). I understand this is a Captain America expansion and therefore there was going to be more Captain America added, but I hoped for more variety. I wish the characters felt different than other expansions, but feel this expansion will get lost among some of the other great expansions that have come out. I love the new schemes and how thematic they are. Abomination villains were annoying but beatable. I am glad to have this addition to Legendary, but nothing stood out for me. Cards were very easy to understand. The enigma scheme is confusing at first but if you read it carefully along with the rules, it is understandable. I should point out that I am not the biggest Captain America fan, so this expansion would not be one of my first off the shelf to pick up. If you are a fan of Captain America then this is your expansion. I still recommend getting this expansion if you own Legendary Marvel because it does add more variety and the schemes are great. This expansion is staying with the rest of my Legendary cards and I look forward to trying out more interesting combinations with other sets.
Pros:
+ Thematic schemes
+ Winter Solider hero
+ Out of Time and Savior keywords were nice additions
+ If you love Captain America, this provided you the history of the stories
+ Adds more variety to an already impressive Marvel Legendary experience
Cons:
- If your not a Captain America fan, this expansion may not interest you
- Villains were bland and forgettable
