Automobiles was one of my favorite sleeper hits from last year. I loved the mix of bag building and racing into one game. Automobiles Racing Season adds 3 new race tracks so that you can now have a racing season with your friends. Also included are unique racer abilities and the ability to have sponsors. Overall I think I will like the additions and that it will add to the feel of a racing event.

Between Two Cities is a tile drafting game that has players making cities with the players next to them. The complicated decision making from having to work on 2 cities with different partners makes for an entertaining game. Capitals adds landscape boards that provide different layouts. There is also a new building type called civic buildings and new ways to earn points with districts. My hope is that this will add for more options and even more difficult decisions.

Splendor was one of the biggest hits a few years back and is a gateway game that many still enjoy playing. The Splendor craze makes me anticipate Cities of Splendor being the most wanted expansion at GenCon this year. Cities of Splendor adds several modules that can be added into the base game. Cities will replace the nobles and require you to complete one before winning. Other modules include the Orient, strongholds, and trading posts. Each provides a different feel to the original Splendor.

If you have followed my articles from the past 2 years, you know that I am a huge DC Deck-Building game fan. The Multiverse Box expansion includes a new way to play the DC Deck-Building Game and also provides a storage solution for the whole series. The storage along makes it a must own for me and Cryptozoic has had several articles up about the new way to play that has peeked my interest. I believe this will breathe fresh air in a series that has changed little over time.

Nations the Dice game is faster dice version of the popular Nations game. One of the first things you may notice is that it is now published by Stronghold Games. From what I understand this expansion will work fine with the original base game. Nations Unrest adds a new green type die that is full of possible badness. Also included are 36 new progress cards that will add fresh air and additional fun to an already great dice game.

Sheriff of Nottingham was the first in a line of Dice Tower Essential games. Rightly so as it became a huge hit and is one of the most popular bluffing games currently on the market. This expansion is jammed packed with 5 modules that can be each added together or separately. For a 6 player game, there will be 2 deputies instead of one sheriff. Both have the option to open bags. The sheriff will now draw laws and play 2 of them that affect the whole round of play. You can now smuggle in Merry Men that once they get through, will be revealed and give that player something special in return. The other 2 modules involve a black market and special orders. I see this being a huge hit of the con and will bring Sheriff of Nottingham back to a lot of game tables.

Terraforming Mars was one of the biggest hits out of GenCon last year and continues to sell out even now. Stronghold Games is adding the new expansion Hellas & Elysium to the already popular base game. This expansion focuses on the other side of mars and provides two new maps that will add special features. This expansion takes the form of adding more variety over changing up the game. If you have played Terraforming Mars, you know this is a great decision as it is a game I highly recommend.

Valeria Card Kingdoms was a game that put Daily Magic Games on the map and now we are getting the much anticipated expansion. Flames and Frost adds new monster decks, new citizens to recruit and new domains to own. I always love when a game adds more variety and Flames & Frost seems to add a lot to the base game.
