A 4x card game that has been on my watch list all year is finally making it's 2017 release. I will be very curious how a 4x mechanic transfers over to a card game. Will game times be similar to other 4x games or will this be more streamlined. Lots of questions, but Portal has put out some great games and I am excited to see this experiment.
A new faction for the Neuroshima Hex game is always something I want. Unless it's Dancer. I hate Dancer. If you have not played Neuroshima Hex yet, you should do so either by playing the physical copy or the digital game. Neuroshima Hex is a pvp abstract strategy game of trying to destroy the other player's base. Each faction has their own feel. This is a must have for me.
Cry Havoc was a huge hit last year for a lot of people and now it is being expanded with Aftermath. Each faction will have new buildings and lots of other fun stuff. If you enjoy Cry Havoc, this is probably an easy buy for you.

A pocket edition of one my favorite games! I don't know if there are any changes or differences from the regular edition, but this will be a must have for me in the future.

Described as an aggressive, competitive card game. Entropy Worlds Collide is a remake/restoration of Entropy the game. Players are trying to recover the 4 shards of themselves before the other players. I saw a preview of this at Gen Con and it looked amazing. If you are a card game person, this will probably be up your alley.

Tao Long is an abstract strategy 2 player game that has players competing as dragons. You will be taking actions/moving on a board that will change when you perform actions. Changing the board will affect the other players turn and so there will be choices of do I take the risk of performing this action which opens up something powerful for the other player. The struggle is real and this could be a hit game for those who enjoy that challenge.
Stonemaier Games has been quiet this year, but that was to unless a storm of new stuff that will surely be of interest to many. Charterstone is probably one of my top 3 games I was most excited about for 2017. This is a legacy game where players are competing to build buildings and populate a shared village. So while it is competitive, you also have to kind of work with the other players to make sure the village is livable. I have stayed away from details because I like to be surprised when playing legacy games, but this looks like it will be a hit for my group. Also available will be a recharge kit so that you can play the whole legacy campaign again without having to purchase a whole new Charterstone. This is a must own for me because Stonemaier Games have been a hit for my group and they have not disappointed me yet.
Scythe is one of my favorite games of all time and still enjoy it to this day. The Wind Gambit adds two modules to the game. The first is a new unit called Airships. They will not be able to control territory but will have easy movement and special abilities. This already seems like a must have for just the airships, but it also includes a second module that will make some want to retry Scythe. Resolution tiles can be added that change how the Scythe ends. instead of a player's sixth star ending the game, a resolution tile will determine what causes the game to end. There are 8 tiles to randomly choose for more variety. This could be a game changer for some who did not like how Scythe ended. Either more fun stuff is always good for a game you enjoy.
Event Horizon expands the epic 4X game called Exodus Proxima Centauri. Event Horizon adds a bunch of new modules and some scenarios. I am gonna admit, I may be a little biased about this game because I am a leader card for one of the modules. Look out for leader Josh T. Brenner because he is gonna make buying a lot easier so you can beat your opponents. You are getting a lot with this expansion and if you own the base game, you probably will want to buy this expansion.
Dragonsgate College is a college to get a degree in dungeon crawling. Dragonsgate College features dice drafting and adding new facilities to your player board. The concept sounds interesting and I like the idea of dice drafting. This is on my check out list.
Pyramid of the Sun is a card game that while simple, gets tougher as the game progresses. During your turn you will either be playing a card to your pyramid to get points or drawing 2 cards. Points get higher as your pyramid gets higher, but you have less spaces to place. The art is amazing and the game sounds great with a low play time of 20 minutes. Last year 3 WIshes was very fun from Strawberry Studios, will Pyramid of the Sun follow suit.
A new card game from the designer who gave us Splendor. I do not know much about Majesty but have heard early whispers that it has been compared to Splendor and been very enjoyable to that audience. I will be curious to hear what others have to say and would recommend at least checking this one out.
Small World has been a hit in the past with my group but has lost some plays at the table over time. Sky Islands looks like a nice breath of fresh air in the series that could liven up the gameplay. Still a beloved game by many, I will be curious to see how this plays out for them.

I am not completely sure this falls under the Asmodee NA brand, but the base game was published by Z-Man Games. I love Voyages of Marco Polo and adding more to the game that is already pretty packed seems daunting. The expansion adds an option for a fifth player and a new Venice board. New buildings, cities and characters will provide more fun with a ton of new variety. I love Voyages of Marco Polo, so this is an obvious buy for me.
What can I say about Pandemic Legacy that hasn't already been said. Season 1 was a huge hit and now we get the sequel. Will it be the Empire Strikes Back or The Phantom Menace? Only time will tell. Players will continue the story from season 1 after some years have passed. This one seems to be more about survival and exploration. Apparently we didn't do so well in Season 1. I am sure this will be flying off shelves this holiday season and I look forward to continuing my adventure.
